Suzuki GS1000E project

Phillip sends us a beautiful motorcycle, inspired by the muscular stars of the past AMA Superbike Championship.

" Bike was bought fairly stockist.
With GS1100 aluminum swingarm, new paint, cut handle bars, and NGK wires and plugs. It was a mess under the decent looking exterior. Wiring was second rate and a little dangerous, cam shaft retainer was loose leading to lots of valve noises, weeping oil at the front of the block, the seat base was rotted with rotted fibreglass patch. The tank had a pin hole leak and was sealed on the inside incorrectly, I had to scrap it for a GSX 1100 tank from the Netherlands. And the handle bars were improperly cut and mounted.

Everything was sorted out by Sean Skinner of MotoRelic in Hamilton, VA.

Engine: Dyna S coils, ignition, Taylor wires, NGK iridium plugs, Shorai lithium iron battery, Dynojet stage 3 needle kit, K&N pod filters, Delkevic headers, MotoRelic custom link pipe to ebay chinese muffler.

Upgraded reg rec, cleaned carbs, relocated battery tray, Earl's oil cooler kit with take off adaptor and anodized fittings and lines from Nick at Suzuki Parts Spares, custom cooler mount by MotoRelic.

RCD quick filler. GSX1100 tank.

Controls: Renthal Fatbar and clamps, Renthal Kevlar grips, Cognitomoto upper triple, stock 2006 gsxr750 lower triple. 2006 gsxr750 forks, wheels, fender, ALLBALLS bearing conversion kit, Custom MotoRelic number plate and PIAA driving lights. KOSO multifunction gauge, Brembo Rcs19 master, CRG folding clutch lever, CRG mirrors, relocated ignition.

Rearsets are GSXR items from China (ebay) custom welded mounts by MotoRelic.

Suspension: 2001 Bandit 1200 swingarm, rear wheels, brake, dual shock conversion and swingarm top hat spacers and offset front cog and aluminum ans steel rear cog from Rob Wilton (Katman on the forums), ebay universal shocks (the Fox RC2 order didn't come through). DID 530 chain.

Seat reformed with new foam to my specs by MotoRelic and reupholstered by Weston at Counterbalance Cycles. Paint by Danny Knight of Knight's Kustoms.

Bike is built to my specs with a good amount of custom fab and weld work by Sean Skinner of MotoRelic. "
